Not For You

Not For You is a solo project started by Ryan Cipkowski. As he grew up, he knew he wanted to create something as an outlet to express himself and to share his story. Music became that outlet for him. He was inspired by all sorts of artists including Twenty One Pilots, Mutemath, Muse, IDKHOWBUTTHEYFOUNDME, and more. He also played a lot of video games growing up, so soundtracks were a big influence as well. Composers like C418, Toby Fox, and Joe Hisaishi inspired his work. As a christian, he believes that God has given him a gift and a story that he is supposed to share. He began to seriously write in high-school, in a time when he was trying to figure out who he was and what he believed. He wanted to share his story with the world and what he discovered in this time of uncertainty. It was only two to three years after he began that he moved to Jackson. All of the experiences, friendships, and stories have impacted his writing in various ways. This city has allowed him to grow not only as an artist, but as a person. He wouldn’t be where he is now without this city. Ryan has been writing for near 7 years now, but released his first EP one year ago. Since then, he has gotten the opportunity to play out many times and share his music with all sorts of people. He hopes he can continue to grow and share himself with many more to come.
