Carl Perkins, the King of Rockabilly, paved the way to modern rock ‘n’ roll right here in Jackson, TN.
It all started with southern hymnal gospel tradition mixing the rich, harmonic sound of jazz and blues, and those rootsy country tracks. Pick up the tempo and start swinging those hips and you’ll end up with Rockabilly and the famous Carl Perkins track, “Blue Suede Shoes.”
