Jackson’s Hubtet

Jackson’s Hubtet is an ensemble of experienced musicians, led by Bill Laarz (brass, vocals and arranger). Bill started performing professionally with The Ringling Bros. Barnum Bailey Circus and Holiday on Ice, while still in high school. While in college, he performed professionally at King’s Island Amusement Park, near Cincinnati. After receiving his BSME (and later his M.M), Nashville became home, performing “live” with artists like The Temptations, Brenda Lee, Porter Wagoner, Irlene Mandrell and Danny Davis and The Nashville Brass (to name a few). Bill’s horn was heard in major recording studios including Owen Bradley’s Barn, while he served as a professional educator. He just retired from teaching to pursue the joy of performing with Jackson’s Hubtet.

After Garnett (“GR”) Davis (bassist) graduated from Indiana University with a master’s degree in music, he toured all 50 states with the Marine Corps component of the U.S. Armed Forces Bicentennial Band and Chorus. He has been a freelance performer in Indianapolis, Chicago, and Nashville, playing for Della Reese, Frank Sinatra, and The Mills Bros., besides playing numerous Broadway musicals, including the New York tour for “Chicago” and “No, No, Nanette.”

Frankie Congiardo (drummer) also holds a master’s degree in music (UT Martin, TN). While being a master teacher for 45 years, having been inducted into the McNairy County Music Hall of Fame and the WTSBOA Band Director’s Hall of Fame, Frank freelanced as a drummer in the Adamsville, TN area. Frankie plays “live” and records all styles from “Bach to Rock.”
